"Behind Your Touch" Korean Drama: Who's the Killer?

Behind Your Touch has me hooked😬😱 It's amazing at mixing different kinds of stories. It has humor, magic, family, love, and thrill. It shows the bloody killings without hiding anything from the viewers who might think it’s a comedy because of the funny idea of touching butts and cute animals.

Every episode is a surprise and a mystery. I can’t wait to find out who the killer is! I wish I could see the end now and watch how they get caught.

"Behind Your Touch" Korean Drama: Who's the Killer?
The shaman can see the memories of anyone he looks at. This makes sense as he wasn't in contact with the cow but just near it. His superpower is much more advanced than Gwangshik’s and Yebun’s. Seonwoo knew his power. He hid the weapon and avoided eye contact with the shaman. He did everything he could to protect Yebun until the end, but he still died.

Seonwoo even recorded everything while he was dying, hoping to leave some clues for Yebun. He also spoke in Arabic, telling Yebun his phone password, which was her birthday.

Besides, the thing is that the shaman isn't controlled by any evil spirit. He's evil by himself. He enjoys killing people for no reason (except his wife). What a twisted and sick person!

UPDATING (after watching the latest episode 14)

Seon Woo is still alive?

I have a theory that Seon Woo isn't really dead, but just pretending to be. Maybe he is a key witness who knows a lot about the killer and the police are trying to protect him. He seems too smart to die so easily, especially since he knows a lot about anatomy. Or perhaps Seon Woo and Jang Yeol are working together to catch the killer and stage his death as part of their plan.

I also noticed that the previews for the past episodes were misleading. They showed things that were different from what we expected. So I wouldn’t be surprised if Seon Woo is still alive and faked his death.

Another thing that caught my eye was the shoes. Seon Woo was wearing shoes with white soles, but the dead body had rain boots. How do you explain that? Could it be that Seon Woo has a partner or a twin who helped him with his scheme?

The shaman’s secret

General Macarthur may be the real killer, and he is using the shaman as his host. He is targeting people who betrayed him or witnessed his crimes. The shaman has blackouts whenever General Macarthur takes over his body and mind. The poor shaman doesn’t realize that he is the one who is killing people. He thinks General Macarthur is gone, but he is actually hiding inside him. He might kill Assemblyman Cha when he was in his General Macarthur mode and then came back to the workshop and fell asleep as the shaman.

Maybe General MacArthur was angry at Truman for firing him and not letting him invade China during the Korean War. He wants revenge on those who betrayed him. He is using his supernatural power to possess the shaman and make him do his bidding.

It could also be that the shaman has a split personality or a twin. Maybe he has two different sides: one is the gentle and scared shaman, and the other is the ruthless and vengeful General Macarthur. Perhaps the stab wounds are different because he switches between them.

Or Seon Woo is the third psychic, and he can see memories when someone touches him. That’s why he had a strange reaction when the shaman grabbed him in front of the bathroom. He was likely to see something that the shaman didn’t want him to see.

I also wonder if the shaman has a mental disorder or a trauma that caused him to develop another personality or to sleepwalk. He can be Ted Chang, the drug dealer that Jang Yeol was looking for. Aeran may be helping him with his crimes.

The shaman could have a special way of using psychometry. He has to hold someone in a certain way to read their memories. Is that why he was holding Ye Bun (when seeing her at the bus stop) and Seon Woo (at the bathroom) in the same way?

I think the shaman is acting too weak and scared lately. Is he trying to fool us into thinking that he is innocent? Is he hiding something? Maybe the child that he was taking care of saw something that he shouldn’t have. The child knows that the shaman is General Macarthur?

Other reasons can be:
  • The shaman had blood on his hands when he came back to his home. He touched the door with his bloody hands, and Seon Woo got the blood on his hands too when he went out to take out the trash.
  • Seon Woo seemed to doubt him in episode 14. He looked at him with suspicion.
  • The shaman lied about not knowing where the church was. He was there in episode 13, talking with the captain. Did he forget because he was possessed by the general?
  • He went with Ye Bun to the hut, where Seon Woo wanted to meet her. Maybe he knew that Seon Woo had discovered his secret. Seon Woo spilled the tea on him on purpose to make him leave, but it didn’t work.
I hope the shaman isn't the killer, because that would be too obvious. Black might mean the black sunglasses that General MacArthur wore when he was killing people.

On the other hand, I think the shaman has a good alibi. He couldn’t have killed both Cha Ju Man and Dr. Jung in such a short time. Seon Woo saw him at the workshop right after he left Dr. Jung at the office entrance. Dr. Jung was slow, so he must have taken some time to get to the office. The shaman would have to run very fast to kill him and then go back to the workshop before Seon Woo got there. As Seon Woo didn’t see anyone on his way to the workshop, the shaman must have been there already.

Also, why didn’t he kill Seon Woo when they went to the bathroom? When did he have time to put on a raincoat? I’m not sure what to think. Maybe Seon Woo realized that the shaman was afraid of the dark, unlike the killer. He might run away because he was worried about Ye Bun.

The secretary, the aunt’s husband, the unnie guy, Ok Hui dad, or the new detective?

I have another theory about who the killer is. Can it be the Secretary? And he's hiding his true identity and motives. Perhaps the last two episodes will reveal everything about him and surprise us. When the shaman was doing the ritual, he said the killer was there. I think the Secretary was there too, but I don’t know how…

Or it's the aunt’s husband. He was also at the ritual. He may have something to do with the murders.

I wonder where the unnie guy is. He hasn’t shown up for three episodes. He used to be in the show a lot, but now he is gone. Maybe he is doing something shady. Is he involved in the murders? He's fast like the killer.

Otherwise, it’s Ok Hui’s dad. He is short and lives near Seon Woo. He wasn't touched. One of Seon Woo's orders was a wooden fish. The coffee delivery was near a fishing area. Tourism and fishing which have been mentioned a lot in the show may have something to do with the crimes.

I also don’t trust the new detective who is working on the serial murder case. He seems suspicious to me. He is a new character, but he appears a lot in the show.

Is Sun Woo the killer?

I have another idea about who the killer is. It’s Sun Woo. That would be a more shocking twist than the shaman or anyone else.

Maybe Sun Woo was the one who killed everyone, and someone else killed him in the end. It might be Ae Ran who did it.

Deok Hee: The serial killer in disguise?

Besides, I suspect that Deok Hee, Ok-Hui’s brother, is the serial killer. Here are my reasons:
  • He's the only one that Ye Bun hasn't touched. Gwang Sik touched him, but he didn’t tell anyone what he saw. Maybe he saw something that made him suspicious of Deok Hee, and that’s why he was killed by him later.
  • He refused to let Ye Bun touch him when she was touching all the detectives. He didn’t give any good reason for that. Was he hiding something in his memories?
  • In one episode, they mentioned a blackout at Ok Hui's house. Was it because Deok Hee was practicing how to create a blackout?
  • His memory showed Mount Mujin on the day of the meteor shower. That’s close to the barn where the killer was. He might be there that night.
  • He was very good at avoiding Jang Yeol in the dark when they were trying to figure out the killer's black trick. Maybe he is used to being in the dark.
  • The influencer recognized the killer and said “oh” before she died. She knew Deok Hee from the hospital, where she vlogged him for a long time. Perhaps she remembered his face.
  • He has been involved in the investigation from the start and has insider knowledge as an officer.
  • He wasn't seen on the night when Ji Suk was murdered. The other detectives were either at the security or outside the station. He could have sneaked out and killed her.
  • Gwang Sik didn't reach out to the detective first as usual but Ye Bun. Because he knew that Ok Hui, Deok Hee's sister, was her best friend. And since he saw Ok Hui in Ye Bun's house too, he just said "Black" instead of Deok Hee's name?
  • Maybe there are two of them: the shaman and Deok Hee. They are working together or separately to kill people.

Seon Woo and the shaman?

Could it be that Seonwoo and the shaman are pretending that Seonwoo is dead so he can hide and complete his mission? His mission might be to expose the political scandal.

I always thought their relationship was strange and unclear. Perhaps Seonwoo’s mom ran away to Australia when he was a kid and met the shaman there. They had Justin and came back to Korea later. Maybe the shaman is Seon Woo’s stepdad and Justin’s dad. They may have a way to fake a death.

The cow

Why did Gwangsik say “black” before he died? Why didn’t he name the killer? What does “black” mean? Is it related to the killer’s skills or motives? The wounds have become more precise and accurate. The killer seems to be improving and "evolving". Maybe he is learning from his mistakes or experimenting with different methods. He also seems to be more confident and stable. He used to stagger, but now he walks normally. Is he recovering from an injury or a condition? Or maybe he is not the same person as before.

I have a crazy idea about who the killer might be. It could be the cow. The cow can transform into a human or possess people. Maybe the cow is Seon Woo’s mother. That’s why Gwangsik was stabbed near the barn.

Gwang Sik’s secret and Ae Ran’s brother

Gwang Sik’s behavior was strange. Why did he stop Ye Bun from touching Ae Ran? He seemed to be hiding something. Ae Ran said that Gwang Sik was investigating something, but he didn’t tell anyone what it was. That’s not like him. He usually shares everything with Jang Yeol and Ye Bun. So why did he keep his secret from them?

Is the killer related to Ae Ran? Is he her long-lost brother? She said she was a little girl when he disappeared. Maybe he is three or five years younger than her. Gwang Sik might want to check his theory before he told Ye Bun. He didn’t want to hurt her feelings or shock her.

How the killer creates blackouts

The sunglass theory aside, the killer probably created the blackout with the electric switch that had blood on it. He turned the light on to kill Dr Jung who was in the same room as the politician.

Or maybe the killer wears a black blindfold that lets him see through it. It’s thin enough to see shapes and colors, but it looks like a blackout to Ye Bun. She skips the black frames when she flips through the memories, but maybe she could see more if she looked closer.

By the way, I head that Behind Your Touch’s next episode has a 19+ rating. Will it be a bed scene or a brutal murder?

Theories after watching episodes 1-12

1. Cho Ae-ran and Gwang-sik (and Seon-woo?)

"Behind Your Touch" Korean Drama: Who's the Killer?

Ae-ran is looking for her lost brother. The little brother could be Seon-woo, but he has the same family name as his mother, Kim. Gwang-sik (and Seon-woo?) helps her with the murders.

Gwang-sik is suspicious, especially since he suggested there is a third psychic. He pays attention to every detail when he described the third person. But remember, Yebun saw the killer when she saved the coffee shop girl, and he was taller than Gwang-sik. The killer’s shape that Yebun saw in the memories doesn't match Gwang-sik. But maybe he wears high heels and thick clothes, which could explain why the killer walks unsteadily.

When Gwang-sik said he was going to do deliveries, he showed his bag with the lists on it. One of the places he had to deliver to was "Assemblyman Cha’s Office." 😱

2. Seon-woo

Seon-Woo is the killer. Detective Moon would look foolish if he isn’t :). He told Jang-yeol his whole day, so he could have an alibi for being at the workshop when the murder happened. But he left his shift early. Like Jang-yeol said, it’s about betrayal. He killed Cha Ju Man and grandpa because grandpa argued with Yebun. Plus, Seon-woo showed no reaction when he heard Assemblyman Cha was dead!😳
"Behind Your Touch" Korean Drama: Who's the Killer?
Maybe he knew Park Seung Gil from the orphanage where he grew up. He might have learned that Seung Gil was going to betray Detective Moon (maybe with his psychic powers?). He also went to see Jang Yeol in the hospital on the same day that Seung Gil was attacked.

Also, where're the cats??

I would be shocked if Seon-Woo really is the killer. Not because he is a killer, but because he is so cruel. He used two people who cared for him.

3. The shaman

I still suspect the shaman is the killer, even though the assistant is also a good candidate. I can’t ignore the shaman’s alter ego and his body language. Maybe Gwang-sik couldn’t get any information from touching the shaman’s legs because the shaman and his alter ego (the serial killer) have different memories.

The shaman might have DID (dissociative identity disorder) because of the trauma of losing his parents. The killer’s signature is his shaky walk. He walked like that in the murder. Maybe the shaman/killer’s shaky walk is caused by sleepwalking or a conflict between the two personalities.

Or maybe the shaman was working with Cha Ju Man. They had a disagreement and the shaman tried to kill him.

4. The female detective

"Behind Your Touch" Korean Drama: Who's the Killer?
She might be the killer since the murders seem to be motivated by betrayal and the killer knows the secrets of the victims. She is also a trained cop, so she could overpower male victims like the friend/brother who betrayed the main lead.

5. The secretary

"Behind Your Touch" Korean Drama: Who's the Killer?
Assemblyman Cha’s secretary is also a suspect. He could be working for the former assemblyman (now minister) Deok-Hyeon and spying on Assemblyman Cha. He was listening to Detective Moon and Yenun's conversation,. And maybe the minister ordered him to kill Assemblyman Cha if he was a threat.

For the other murders, he was present when the blogger made a scene with the assemblyman and got paid by him. The blogger seemed to recognize her killer, so it could be the secretary. The other two murders, I’m not sure. How about you? What do you think?

6. Multiple killers

Maybe there are two killers. The shaman might be helping them. He always leaves when something big happens, like when he went to Australia. His funny scenes, like taking Seon-woo’s food, were meant to make us forget.

Else, what if the serial killer is not one person, but many? Maybe different people killed different victims. The real enemy is not the serial killer anymore, but the assemblyman who needs to be exposed.

The writer is great at throwing hints here and there. At this point, who is (are) the killer(s)? Let me know what you think~
