"The Day of the Kidnapping" (2023) Ep.8-11 Review: Another Drama of the Year!

I really enjoy "The Kidnapping Day" (aka The Day of the Kidnapping, The Day). It’s the best Kdrama I’m watching right now. It has a mix of sci-fi, thriller, suspense, and emotional connections. The kid and the main lead are both amazing actors. I also like how the story is not too dark. Plus, that the male lead was the first experiment surprised me. I never get bored or want to skip any scenes and I’m even thinking of buying the book!

Myeong-jun and Ro-hee’s witty exchanges always make me laugh. They are so hilarious.

- Ro Hee: How much were you going to ask as my ransom?

- Myung Jun: 50 million won

- Ro Hee: That's a blow to my pride 😂

I love watching how our favorite dad-daughter duo are in sync.👨‍👧

Rohee can’t help but smile as she sees Myeong-jun’s innocent and amazed expression at the high-tech gadgets. 😂

Even in the most serious situations, Myeong Jun and Ro Hee always crack me up with their humor.

They made me laugh so hard with their antics. Myung Jun couldn't have Jaden's name right. 😂

Look at her expression 🤣 She seems to be enjoying herself a lot for someone who is kidnapped!

Myeong Jun was mindful of Ro Hee’s seafood allergy and advised her to avoid it <3. Ro Hee felt hungry and ready to eat at last.~

Myeong Jun got a pair of cuddly teddy bears as gifts for both Hee Ae and Ro Hee. The one for Ro Hee resembles her so much 🥺 But he didn't get the chance to give it to her as the villains took her.

Talking about Myeong Jun, I find it puzzling that Myeong Jun behaves in some ways like an ordinary person (I don’t mean to say he is dumb). Even though he has a genius child who explains complex things to him, some of these things seem obvious to me, but not to him. His actions don’t match his high IQ unless he is pretending to be clueless. But on the other hand, I don’t doubt that Myeongjun is smart; he just appears to be a simple and kind man despite his intelligence.

Myung Jun is so kind, which the harsh world today calls "foolish."

Myeongjun gave his word to Rohee and he will keep that promise no matter what.

It hurts when I think how this 11-year-old child can remain sane after suffering so much.😔 She only has her “kidnapper” as a source of stability. The relationship and affection they have grown.~

“And you! The guy who’s never been in a relationship!” Myung Jun managed to be unserious in serious situations 😂

Myeong Jun rescued her successfully! We deserve a Myeong Jun who cares for us.~

Kim Myeong Jun, a lovable fool for Ro Hee

How funny it is when Ro Hee calls Sang Yun a poor cop for failing to catch someone as clumsy as Myeong Jun! Finally, I get to see the vibes!

I find this scene hilarious when Myeong Jun assumes he is as smart as Ro Hee 😂

Sang Jun is third wheeling and watching these two banter non-stop :))

 Daddy-daughter chats ❤

- Ro Hee: I think it's all dry.
- Myeong Jun: No, it's not. It's cold out. You'll catch a cold.

- Ro Hee: Why aren't you eating? You normally finish a bowl of rice by now. It's odd that you still have so much rice left.
- Myeong Jun: I just have an upset stomach.

- Ro Hee: Bulgogi burger.
- Myeong Jun: What?

- Ro Hee: I'm going to have bulgogi burger for dinner.

I want you [Ro Hee] to give this to her [Hee Ae] yourself. Can you do that? (Myeong Jun)

She turned away to hide her smile out of happiness. It's bittersweet to see her act her age when being with Myeong Jun.

After the surgery, Hee Ae finally reunites with her dad. She is so sweet and cares about Ro Hee’s happiness as well. Myeong Hun has done a great job as a father. 

She looked at Myeong Jun and said "I am" when Hee Ae asked if she was happy.~

This kid makes all these grown-ups nervous and anxious. She’s the best character in this show. 💗

She lectured him as if she were his mom-in-law 😂

I just want her to be happy... Ro Hee is still a kid.. and on top of that, she must've gone through a lot. I'm going to help her live in a better environment.

- Ro Hee: I've never had a sweet dream in this room.

- Myeong Jun: You'll have now since there are people who truly care about you now.

Myeong Jun erased all the murder evidence before letting Ro Hee enter 😭

The last minutes of episode 11 are Baeksang-worthy!

Episode 11 showed amazing acting skills from both Yoon Kye Sang and Yuna! Ro Hee had recovered her memories long before but she was faking it because she didn’t want to lose Myeong Jun… Ro Hee truly loves Myungjoon as her father. The way she’s wailing in agony, sobbing in terror that she’ll be apart from her dad, the only family she ever had, it’s heartbreaking. They are so precious ❤️ I’m devastated by the last three minutes of this episode. 😭
