MBC has revealed the first poster for its upcoming historical drama “Flower That Blooms at Night”!
The drama is a comedy-action story set in the Joseon era, featuring Honey Lee as Jo Yeo Hwa, a woman who has been living a humble and quiet life as a loyal widow for 15 years. But she has a hidden side: at night, she bravely goes out to help and protect those who are in trouble.
The poster shows Jo Yeo Hwa in her mourning clothes, looking at the camera with a resolute expression. Her face is mostly covered by shadows, except for her eyes, creating the impression that she is wearing a mask to hide her identity. The image also suggests the thrilling life that Jo Yeo Hwa leads by night.
The caption on the poster reads, “If the harsh law of the land cannot aid its helpless people, then I can save them, right?”
The production team of the drama said, “We used black and white to portray the dual life of [Jo Yeo Hwa], who dresses in mourning clothes by day, but wears a mask and fighting clothes by night to jump over her fence.”
They added, “We wanted to show the contrast between the two sides of Yeo Hwa's character through this first poster. Please anticipate the double life of Yeo Hwa, who has completely different personalities [by day versus night].”
“Flower That Blooms at Night” will air its first episode on January 12, 2024, at 9:50 p.m. KST.
