A Sneak Peek at the Script Reading of a Historical Drama Starring Jo Jung Suk and Shin Se Kyung

tvN has unveiled a glimpse of its upcoming historical drama "Sejak" (romanized title) through photos and a video from the script reading. The drama, penned by Kim Sun Deok, the mind behind tvN's series "The Crowned Clown," delves into the captivating tale of King Yi In, a monarch navigating treacherous royal and political power struggles, and Kang Hee Soo, a woman seeking vengeance who finds herself ensnared in a web of seduction.

The script reading was graced by the presence of director Jo Nam Gook, writer Kim Sun Deok, and an esteemed cast, including Jo Jung Suk, Shin Se Kyung, Lee Shin Young, Park Ye Young, Son Hyun Joo, Choi Dae Hoon, Jo Sung Ha, Lee Kyu Hoe, Yang Kyung Won, Jang Young Nam, Ahn Si Ha, Kang Hong Seok, Na Hyun Woo, Han Dong Hee, and Song Sang Eun.

As the script reading commenced, the actors seamlessly transformed into their respective characters, captivating the audience with their impressive performances. Jo Jung Suk, portraying the tormented King Yi In, exuded a palpable sense of vulnerability and emotional depth, capturing the essence of a monarch yearning for trust and connection amidst a world of deceit.

Shin Se Kyung, effortlessly switching between the personas of the strong-willed Kang Hee Soo and the enigmatic gambler Kang Mong Woo, showcased her versatility without relying on external cues. Lee Shin Young, making his historical drama debut, delivered a captivating performance as Kim Myung Ha, a man deeply enamored with Kang Hee Soo, while Park Ye Young injected an air of suspense with her portrayal of the enigmatic court lady Dong, harboring secrets beneath her façade.

Son Hyun Joo, embodying the role of Kang Hee Soo's father Kang Hang Soon, commanded attention with his commanding presence and unwavering determination. Jo Sung Ha, as Kim Jong Bae, the minister of military affairs, further intensified the palace power struggle with his chilling demeanor. Jang Young Nam, portraying the formidable Queen Dowager Park, captivated the audience with her sharp wit and piercing gaze.

Expressing their excitement for the drama, Jo Jung Suk and Shin Se Kyung shared their enthusiasm for the project.
