The first episode of "Queen of Divorce" ends with Kim Sa-Ra, played by Lee Ji-Ah, getting a divorce from Noh Yul-Sung after he and his mother framed her for fraud and sent her to jail. She also loses her child to him. Son Jang-Mi, who runs a divorce consulting start-up called Solution, asks Sa-Ra to join her as the leader. Meanwhile, Yul-Sung faces a scandal after his mistress dies unexpectedly.

Lee Ji-Ah suspects foul play in her mother's death

In the 2nd episode, we see Lee Ji-Ah's character, Sa-Ra, preparing for revenge with physical training. At the same time, Kang Ki-Young's character, Dong Gi-Jun, a prosecutor, summons Yul-Sung to his office to question him about his mistress' death. Yul-Sung uses his influence as the CEO of Chayul Law Firm to evade the interrogation.

He also sees Sa-Ra's mother at Gi-Jun's law firm. She has a piece of evidence that proves that the mistress was murdered. One of Yul-Sung's men pretends to be Gi-Jun and takes her away. Sa-Ra learns about her mother's death in prison. She is told that it was a suicide, but she does not believe it. She confronts Yul-Sung at the funeral and they have a heated argument.

Gi-Jun faces difficulties in solving the mistress' death case because of the Chayul Law Firm's connections. He eventually loses his job as a prosecutor. Sa-Ra, on the other hand, gets out of prison and joins Jang-Mi's start-up, Solution. It's a special divorce consultancy firm that helps clients get justice from their cheating spouses.

Episode 2 ending: Ex-lovers Ji-Ah & Ki-Young team up as business partners

Sa-Ra's Solution starts to handle divorce cases successfully. An author comes to her for divorce advice. She's married to a famous lawyer from the Chayul Law Firm, but she wants to leave him. The lawyer is involved in a #MeToo scandal that causes trouble for his family.

The couple has a daughter who attempts to jump off a building, but Sa-Ra rescues her. Sa-Ra sympathizes with their situation and decides to help the author. She also sees this as an opportunity to get back at her ex-husband, Yul-Sung. At the end of the second episode of Queen of Divorce, Jang-Mi suggests Sa-Ra hire a lawyer for their firm. She strongly recommends Kang Ki-Young's character, Dong Gi-Jun.

Sa-Ra is reluctant to hire him and asks him to reject Solution's offer. It turns out that they were ex-lovers. A flashback shows Sa-Ra meeting Gi-Jun a day before her wedding to Yul-Sung. He asks her to run away with him, and she agrees at first. In the present day, Gi-Jun asks her why she married Yul-Sung. She says that she wanted a good life.

Gi-Jun initially declines the job offer, but he changes his mind later. He says that he will work with her, but not as her employee. They decide to be business partners and forget about their past.

Review

This episode gave us a deeper look into Gi-Jun, but it also kept Sa-Ra in the spotlight, which was great. On the other hand, Sa-Ra was unsure about her mother's death, but it was heartbreaking to see how much she trusted Yul-Sung not to do anything extreme.

Gi-Jun also had his own problems, as he was caught in the schemes of others who wanted to eliminate him from the competition. But Kang Ki-Young's performance in this role was amazing.

This was the end of the 1st weekend of “Queen of Divorce," which attracted more viewers for sure. The show is just starting and we can be looking forward to the exciting court drama, can't we?
