Cha Seong-jae, deep in thought, leaves his phone and wallet inside his car and drives off a cliff, leading to a crash. The vehicle explodes, and he dies. The next day, Seong-jae’s charred body is found at the accident site. Moon-young, seeing the ring on the finger of the corpse, realizes it’s her husband and is devastated.

Moon-young, who insists her husband wasn't the type to die like this, doesn't believe he committed suicide despite everyone saying so and even though he sent a will to his father by mail, making his suicide almost certain. However, Moon-young feels there’s a dark hand behind his death.

Everyone tries to stop Moon-young from demanding an autopsy and investigation into her husband’s death. Moon-young, who had lost her father to suicide in her childhood and carries that trauma, faints while trying to see her husband’s charred body. Despite her objections, Seong-jae’s parents proceed with his funeral and cremation.

- Is he your husband?

Unable to let the case go, Moon-young visits Geumshin Mulsan. The traffic accident perpetrator related to Geumshin Mulsan’s resort business, Kim Yoon-sun, also died in a traffic accident, and Moon-young suspects a connection with Geumshin Mulsan.

The head of Geumshin Mulsan, Ma Kang, is furious, vowing to clean up the mess left by Cha Seong-jae. He also threatens Moon-young not to uncover the hidden truths about her husband.

Trying to settle her husband’s affairs, Moon-young finds out his debt is enormous: 3 billion in corporate debt and 1.9 billion from secondary financial institutions. Uncovering Seong-jae’s secrets could tarnish his image, damage the reputation of her father-in-law, who has been a human rights lawyer for a long time, and cause significant harm to Moon-young herself, who would be left with nothing but debt after the law firm’s bankruptcy.

Despite her daughter also being deeply affected by her father’s death, Moon-young is determined to find the truth. She believes Do Jin-woo, suspected of knowing her husband’s secrets, holds the key.

Seemed that Bom spotted her dad on the street, which wasn't her imagination. But why was Yeon-joo there then? She seems like a neighbor who’s just nice and ended up helping her out?

Moon-young leaves a voice message for Jin-woo, who sends her a location. As Moon-young heads to the meeting place, Jin-woo is also on his way along the coastal road. A car chases Jin-woo’s motorcycle and forces him off a cliff. Jin-woo falls and starts running, sensing someone is after him. The driver of the car aims a gun at Jin-woo, and shockingly, it’s Seong-jae, Moon-young’s husband, revealing he is alive. This concludes episode 2.
