A dangerous game of cat and mouse

Sa-ra, wary of Yul-seong’s vengeful nature, sends Seo-yun to Jang-mi for safety. After Sa-ra imprisons Hui-won, Ji-in is convinced of Sa-ra’s loyalty and shares more details about the secretive Five Member Society. Now, Sa-ra sets her sights on acquiring the society’s ledger.

She and her team strategize on how to uncover the location of Yul-seong’s hidden funds detailed in the ledger. They decide to approach the group’s most vulnerable link—a journalist. With Jang-mi’s assistance, who enlists the journalist to promote her restaurant, Kang Bom and Dae-ki are able to tail him and discover where he stashes the cash given by Jang-mi.

The following day, Yul-seong learns of the journalist’s article about Jang-mi’s eatery, which hints at Sa-ra’s involvement, signaling impending problems. Sa-ra, using Hui-won’s identity, searches the designated area and uncovers the money left by Jang-mi. They then shift their focus to a nearby building in search of the ledger.

The final confrontation

In a dramatic turn, Sa-ra retrieves the ledger and plans to surrender it to the authorities. However, Yul-seong exploits her vulnerability by capturing Seo-yun and blackmails Sa-ra into exchanging the ledger for her son’s safety. Despite her hesitation, Sa-ra complies, but it’s revealed she has duped Yul-seong with a counterfeit ledger, while the genuine one is already with the investigators.

As the news spreads, Sa-ra and Ki-joon deceive Yul-seong’s confidant, leading him to suspect that Yul-seong will betray him. This suspicion is confirmed when Yul-seong demands his aide take the fall for his crimes. Sa-ra’s maneuvering corners Yul-seong, effectively removing Chayul from the investment competition. Yet, Sa-ra remains in peril as Yul-seong refuses to concede defeat.

Later, Sa-ra confronts Yul-seong, aiming to extract a confession regarding her mother’s murder. However, she falls into his trap and is kidnapped. Yul-seong attempts to coerce a confession from Sa-ra about the forged ledger, but she resists. In a rage, Yul-seong decides to dispose of Sa-ra at a port container yard.

As time runs out, Sa-ra provokes Yul-seong into confessing his role in her mother’s death. Although he leaves her with a means to escape, time is against her. Meanwhile, Ki-joon and his team race against the clock to locate Sa-ra. In a tense finale, they manage to halt the containers’ movement and rescue Sa-ra, who is on the verge of succumbing to the cold within the container.

Sa-ra breathes a sigh of relief upon seeing him, while the prosecutors prevent Yul-seong from fleeing. With Ki-joon and company in tow, Sa-ra confronts Yul-seong, who’s pretending to be innocent. Fed up, she boldly steps up and delivers a well-deserved kick to him. She then skillfully retrieves his phone and presents a recording to the authorities, capturing his confession to the murder of her mother.

Justice wins, Yul-seong goes to jail, and Sa-ra feels at peace. She later visits her mother’s grave with Seo-yun, reflecting on the justice secured. Ki-joon joins them, honoring Sa-ra’s mother and vowing to look after Sa-ra, sharing a tender moment with Seo-yun before departing. Sa-ra is touched by the bond Ki-joon and Seo-yun share, and she looks forward to a hopeful future.

After a while, there’s a happy wedding where Sa-ra and Seo-yun choose rings and do their roles. The wedding is for Kang Bom and Dae-ki, and Sa-ra is in charge of the happy ceremony.

After the party, Ki-joon asks Sa-ra to marry him with a ring, and she says yes to a deal where they promise to stay together for 5 years at a time. They start a new life together, going from being work partners to being partners in life.

Episode 12 of “Queen of Divorce” ends in a touching way, showing how patient Sa-ra and Ki-joon are with each other and how strong their relationship is. Despite a somewhat simplistic portrayal of the antagonist, the ending of the show is still satisfying.
