This week’s episodes 5 and 6 tired me, but I’m glad episode 6 started where episode 1 did. I’m looking forward to the rest of the series.

"The Impossible Heir" Episodes 5 & 6: Recap & Review

Recap

In episode 5, you saw Han Tae Oh and Kang In Ha argue about selling Kangoh Techworks. Their boss, Chairman Kang Jung Mo, told them to do this. The show made it clear that Tae Oh and In Ha were starting to disagree with each other. The end of the episode was surprising because Tae Oh was attacked in a park at night, and everyone is wondering what will happen to him next.

In episode 6, Tae Oh wakes up after the attack and feels that In Ha has betrayed him by trying to hide what happened. He decides to talk to Chairman Kang Jung Mo and find out the truth himself. When Tae Oh learns that someone close to Kang In Joo was responsible for the attack, he plans to get even, making the story even more exciting.

The episode also talks about how In Ha and Hye Won are trying to get more power in the Kang family. This makes things more complicated, especially when Tae Oh watches them at their wedding.

But Tae Oh is still in danger. "The Impossible Heir" goes back to the first scene of the first episode, where Tae Oh wakes up in a hotel room with In Joo’s dead body. He’s covered in blood and realizes he’s now involved in a murder.

Lee Jae Wook and Lee Jun Young have done a great job, and people are saying that they're showing new sides of their acting skills.

Let’s think about it. Why would someone say this to a person who just survived a life-threatening situation? In Ha must have realized that his words would cause Tae Oh more pain, and indeed, they did. It seems like it was all part of In Ha’s scheme.

In Ha knows Hye Won likes Tae Oh, but he might not be ignoring it. Maybe he’s keeping Hye Won close to control Tae Oh or because he feels inferior. His father and Tae Oh tell him to stay calm and follow orders, which must be hard for him.

I think the love triangle isn’t working because there’s no spark between the female lead and either Tae Oh or In Ha. The kisses lack passion, which is disappointing for a love story.

"The Impossible Heir"’s politics are smart, and it was tough to guess who attacked Tae Oh. I wasn’t surprised the Chairman didn’t care; that’s just how he is. I feel bad for Tae Oh, but how can he be up and about after brain surgery :).

It seems like someone is framing Tae Oh, and it might be In Ha. In Ha has always been jealous of Tae Oh’s success despite his tough background. In Ha might be using Hye Won and Tae Oh to gain power, even though he knows Hye Won doesn’t love him. It’s possible In Ha arranged the attack on Tae Oh and is now trying to pin it on someone else.

The evil stepmother might be involved in the murder too. She could be trying to eliminate her son’s rivals, In Ju and Tae Oh.

Or perhaps, it’s Hye Won. She could have killed In Joo, who was threatening her, and then framed Tae Oh to save herself.

All she loves is herself. (Hui Ju about Hye Won)

By the way, I really like the Chairman’s unique shirts and how he doesn’t always wear a suit. The show’s visuals are another strong point. The camera work, style, and music are great, and the acting of the male leads and supporting actors is impressive.
