No one believes her, even Sajo Hyeon, who follows the clues. But he feels that she isn't the culprit. The real killer is revealed later in the episode. It is the King’s secret son, Sajo Yung (Hwang Hee), who uses a toxic needle to end his father’s life.
Sajo Yung attempts to murder Park Ji-Hoon after assassinating the King
Sajo Yung is a mysterious figure from the start. He belongs to the White Knife, a rebel group that wants the King gone and the throne for himself. So he murders his father in Love Song for Illusion episode 5 and makes Kyera look guilty.
He also tries to kill his half-brother, Crown Prince Sajo Hyeon, to become the sole ruler. But he fails because Sajo Hyeon has another personality, Ak-Hee (Park Ji-Hoon), who takes over. Ak-Hee comes out of Sajo Hyeon’s subconscious when Kyera is forced to admit a crime she didn't do. He begs Sajo Hyeon to rescue Kyera, but he's reluctant to do so.
Ak-Hee strikes a bargain with the body’s owner to free him for the sake of Hyong Ye-Ji’s role. He then takes charge when Sajo Yung attacks him. He makes a deal with Hwang Hee’s role, tricking him into thinking that he doesn't want the throne.
The palace learns that the Crown Prince ordered Kyera’s death. But Ak-Hee saves her when the execution begins. He looks after her in a small cabin. Kyera regains consciousness and finds out that Ak-Hee has taken over Sajo Hyeon’s mind and body. She feels uneasy around him and keeps asking about the Crown Prince.
As Sajo Hyun prepares to ascend the throne at the palace, his wife, the Crown Princess, is furious with him for banishing Kyera.
The final scene of episode 5 shows a romantic moment between Park Ji-Hoon and Hong Ye-Ji
Hong Ye-Ji’s character, Kyera, decides to leave the cottage where Ak-Hee is taking care of her. She's attacked by Sajo Yung’s men, but Ak-Hee comes to her rescue.
They run away from the attackers, but they end up at a cliff with no escape route. They choose to jump into the river below. The episode closes with them in the water, Ak-Hee embracing her and kissing her tenderly. Ak-Hee’s voice says, “I love you, Kyera.”
Sajo Hyeon, meanwhile, is stuck in his own mind. He is surrounded by a dark force and wonders, “What is happening, Ak-Hee?”

The Tuesday night drama “Between Him and Her” on Channel A also experienced a minor decline in its ratings, earning an average of 0.2% nationwide, compared to its previous episode’s rating.
The complicated love square between Lee Dong-hae, Kim Hyun-mok, and Yeon Je-hyung, who are involved with Lee Seol, ignited the fire. In episode 4, Han Seong-ok (Lee Seol)'s ex-boyfriend Jeong Hyeon-seong (Lee Dong-hae), the friend Kim Hyeong-seop (Kim Hyun-mok), and the junior Kim Geon-yeop (Yeon Je-hyung) revealed their complex feelings for Seong-ok and attracted attention.
Previously, Hyeon-seong and Seong-ok broke up and missed the timing of reconciliation, and eventually, a serious atmosphere ensued at Hyeong-seop's birthday party. Seong-ok, who was suffering, tried to reveal the reason why she broke up with Hyeon-seong in front of her friends, and a tense story unfolded.
As Seong-ok was about to say "Actually, I", Hyeon-seong slammed the table and got up. Then Hyeon-seong lied, "I cheated, I slept with another woman." Seeing him, Seong-ok couldn't stand it and ran outside, and she collapsed on the floor as if she realized the breakup, recalling the last night she met Hyeon-seong in front of the motel elevator.
Oh Min-hyuk (Jae-hyuk Lim) was about to leave the seat as the birthday party atmosphere became awkward. He ran into Kim Hye-ryeong (Ye-ju Yoon), who was drunk. Min-hyuk, who had complicated feelings for Hye-ryeong, felt his heart flutter as Hye-ryeong hugged him with aegyo and the relationship of the two people who had been friends for 15 years stimulated a new romance.
Meanwhile, Hyeong-seop found out that Seong-ok had pressed and canceled the "like" button on the picture he took with Hyeon-seong on his SNS account. Hyeong-seop, who hesitated to meet Seong-ok separately because of the reason that she broke up with his friend Hyeon-seong, decided to contact Seong-ok. It was revealed that Hyeong-seop had secretly liked Seong-ok for her chic appearance and delicate consideration since the day Hyeon-seong introduced her as his girlfriend.
Seong-ok quit the company where she worked as a marketing team to return as a jewelry designer, and accepted Geon-yeop's good offer. In the meantime, Hyeong-seop and Geon-yeop, who came to see Seong-ok for different reasons, happened to gather in one place. Hyeong-seop talked brightly with Seong-ok and lost confidence when he saw Geon-yeop, who looked perfect to anyone, and Seong-ok got drunk.
On the other hand, Hye-ryeong confessed that she had a boyfriend at the place where she met with Min-hyuk and her middle and high school classmates. Hye-ryeong fell in love with Jang Eun-woo (Seon-ho Baek) at the bookstore and started dating him. And Min-hyuk was shocked to hear the news. Looking at Hye-ryeong's happy back, he resigned, "What was I thinking for a moment. I'm just a pig to Hye-ryeong." Their crossed love aroused pity.
At the end of episode 4, Hyeon-seong, who felt Seong-ok's absence greatly after breaking up with her, and had to deal with everything that Seong-ok had been paying for, such as studio rent and sewing factory fees, called his friend Hyeong-seop with a frustrated mind. But when Hyeon-seong heard Seong-ok's voice over Hyeong-seop's phone, he headed outside and recalled Hyeong-seop's meaningful words to Seong-ok in the past and suffered. The ending of Seong-ok and the unidentified people who got up by someone's hand in the motel wasn't good, making the next episode more curious.
