“Flex x Cop” episode 16: Recap & review

[Mar 23] “Flex x Cop” Ep 16: Rating, Recap, Review

Lee Soo (played by Ahn Bo-hyun) faced the harsh truth that his brother Seung-joo (played by Kwak Si-yang) was the real culprit behind the murders of both his father Myung-chul (played by Jang Hyun-sung) and mother Sun-young (played by Lee Si-a).

The elite Team 1, consisting of Kang Hyun (played by Park Ji-hyun), Jun-young (played by Kang Sang-jun), and Kyung-jin (played by Kim Shin-bi), as well as Hyung-jun (played by Kwon Hae-hyo) who handled Sun-young’s case 25 years ago, collaborated to successfully identify Seung-joo as the prime suspect. However, Lee Soo found it impossible to accept that his brother Seung-joo was the true culprit. Team 1 needed physical evidence, but the statute of limitations had already expired for Sun-young’s case. No significant clues were found in Myung-chul’s case. Meanwhile, Seung-joo shamelessly took over the chairman position of Han-su Group.

Lee Soo could no longer deny the increasingly evident reality of Seung-joo. After confirming a forensic report that the fingerprints, which couldn’t be identified 25 years ago, belonged to Seung-joo who was a minor at the time, Lee Soo confronted Seung-joo and ultimately obtained a confession, bringing him to justice.

Later, Lee Soo returned to Han-su Group but soon passed the chairmanship to professional manager Director Choi (played by Kim Myung-soo) according to his father’s wishes and returned to Kangha. This brought Team 1 back to full strength, culminating in a feel-good ending.

“Flex x Cop” captivated us with the riveting journey of a third-generation chaebol detective who overcomes his trauma and grows into a real detective with a strong sense of justice, capable of even condemning his own family. The show is set to return with Season 2. Writer Kim Bada has already started working on the script for Season 2. The cast, including Ahn Bo-hyun and Park Ji-hyun, is considering their participation and coordinating schedules.
