Another murder

In the second episode, Jung-won gets a message to go to her therapist’s new office. Instead, she finds an empty room with Cha Eun-sae’s body. She’s about to call for help when her boss, Kang In-han, calls. He tells her she might become the main newsreader at 9 pm and to avoid problems.

Jung-won takes pictures of the body and runs away. She meets a clinic worker who says she sent Jung-won to the wrong floor. Jung-won hides a blood stain on her arm and goes to her therapy session.

She notices there are no cameras in the building, called Leaders Palace. At home, she cleans the blood off her shirt and feels bad for running away. Woo-jae comes back drunk, saying he’s stuck with his writing.

Unravel the mystery

Detective Tae-hoon is on the case of Eun-sae’s death. He finds out she was stabbed and had a broken necklace. The building is where Eun-sae’s new work was. Tae-hoon sees a clock without batteries, just like one in another case.

Woo-jae wakes up and thinks Jung-won is upset because he was drunk. At work, Jung-won learns she has to report on Eun-sae’s death. She looks at security videos and asks her secret contact, Zeus, for help to find out who was there.

Tae-hoon talks to the coroner, who says Eun-sae’s wounds are like another victim’s, and she was pregnant. Jung-won asks Tae-hoon about these details, and he confirms them.

Jung-won confronts Woo-jae about a sonogram from Eun-sae. Woo-jae says Eun-sae liked him, but they only met once. He also went to a clinic because he’s sad. Jung-won can’t find a special necklace and promises to spend more time with Woo-jae.

At work, Jung-won can’t find her necklace. She finds out someone else might report on Eun-sae’s case, so she convinces her boss to let her do it. She interviews a woman who was tricked by her husband. Jung-won thinks about how this is like Woo-jae’s actions.

Tae-hoon gets into Eun-sae’s apartment and sees Woo-jae’s books. He finds a cake that Jung-won gave to Eun-sae. They see Jung-won in the building’s video. Jung-won asks Zeus to check if Woo-jae has more phones.

Tae-hoon meets Jung-won and asks about an envelope from Eun-sae and why Jung-won was hit. Jung-won says it’s private and talks about her therapy. Tae-hoon thinks Jung-won and Eun-sae were involved. They fight, and Tae-hoon gives back a pen with Jung-won’s name.

Jung-won tosses it into the bin.

In a memory, Jung-won bugs Tae-hoon for his number so she can call him. While he jots it down, she teases about them both being single and maybe dating one day.

At her place, Jung-won checks Woo-jae’s phone while he sleeps but finds nothing. The next day, they meet Woo-jae’s dad, Seol Pan-ho, and unexpectedly, Assemblyman Mo. Pan-ho wants Jung-won to say sorry, but she won’t.

Assemblyman Mo hints he knew Jung-won’s dad, Seo Sang-gyeon. Leaving, he says Jung-won chose the wrong husband. Later, Assemblyman Mo gets a call from Tae-hoon, asking about Jin Myung-soo’s early salary withdrawal.

Tae-hoon and Myung-soo go to a mental health clinic and learn Jung-won was there at 7:45. They talk to Eun-sae’s brother, Geum-sae, about why he was in the Leaders Palace basement. Geum-sae says he just parked and biked. Tae-hoon tells him about a pregnancy, but Geum-sae knows nothing.

Zeus informs Jung-won that Woo-jae has a phone line under a company in his name. He gives her the number but can’t find where it is.

Jung-won looks at home and finds the phone in the trash, wiped clean. She takes it to a shop to recover the data.

Tae-hoon and Myung-soo meet Eun-sae’s boss, who thought Eun-sae had a secret boyfriend. She says Geum-sae snooped on Eun-sae’s phone and stole money, once pulling a knife on her.

Back at the station, Tae-hoon talks to his chief about the case. Myung-soo shows him calls Eun-sae made to Woo-jae’s company.

Jung-won’s team films a man hitting his wife. Jung-won gets hit trying to stop him, but Tae-hoon arrests the man.

Tae-hoon scolds Jung-won for risking herself. He remembers his partner, Detective Cha, who died being too relaxed.

At home, Jung-won gets a list from Zeus and sees Woo-jae was at Leaders Palace when Eun-sae died. Woo-jae comes over, and before he can explain, Tae-hoon takes him to the station, ending episode 2 of "Nothing Uncovered."

Review

[Mar 19] “Nothing Uncovered” Ep 2: Rating, Recap, Review

The second episode is slower, setting up the murder investigation. We suspect Woo-jae, Eun-sae’s brother, and Assemblyman Mo. The story promises more mystery with Zeus and Jung-won’s dad.

We see more of Jung-won. She’s good but ambitious, fleeing a crime scene, then doubting Woo-jae again.

Plus, we learn a bit about her past with Tae-hoon, but the detective doesn't really stand out. Meanwhile, Jang Seung-jo is impressive as Woo-jae, showing a softer side when necessary, while also keeping Woo-jae looking doubtful.
