[Mar 5] “The Escape of the Seven: Resurrection" Ep 3: Rating, Recap, Review

Hwang Jung-eum and Lee Joon have begun their secret collaboration.

Matthew Lee, who learned that Min Do-hyuk was alive, was enraged. Geum Ra-hee urgently summoned everyone, suspecting there was a traitor among the villains. The villains, terrified by Matthew Lee’s outburst demanding to know who the traitor was, began to suspect each other, biting and tearing at one another, causing a rift. Han-mo-ne, who informed Michelle (played by Yoo Joo) that Matthew Lee was Shim Jun-seok, was driven out as a traitor, and Ra-hee incited this.

Do-hyuk’s first plan for revenge, now cleared of false charges, was also set in motion. Having been hiding in the mountains, he appeared on the broadcast pretending to have lived in seclusion and clarified that he wasn't the son of Seongchan Group Chairman Shim Yong (played by Kim Il-woo). He touched the nation’s sentiment by claiming to have lost his family to the serial killer Shim Jun-seok, just like Matthew Lee.

Furthermore, through the broadcast, he shaped public opinion that Matthew Lee would protect him from Shim Jun-seok. Afterward, Do-hyuk became a national hero on par with Matthew Lee, and the world was experiencing a "Min Do-hyuk boom."

And Do-hyuk entered Tikita. Matthew Lee and Ra-hee planned to keep Do-hyuk close and find his accomplice.  Do-hyuk deliberately acted friendly with Matthew Lee in front of the press, manipulating him. In front of the employees, he acted somewhat clueless, but once they were gone, he changed and moved differently. Secretly, he searched the name No Han-na (played by Shim Ji-yoo) on the Children’s Home site and spread comments intending to reveal Matthew Lee’s true nature by manipulating articles related to Tikita.

In the meantime, another collaborator, "Medusa," approached Do-hyuk. He proposed a secret collaboration to him, stating that the deaths of Matthew Lee and Ra-hee were his goals, and informed him that a scandal involving the Mayor of Seoul would break out tomorrow. Then, an unexpected twist was revealed. The identity of "Medusa," who approached Min Do-hyuk, was none other than Ra-hee.

Meanwhile, Han-mo-ne arranged a meeting between Matthew Lee and Save CEO Hwang Chan-sung (played by Lee Jung-shin). Matthew Lee was angered by Chan-sung’s dismissive attitude but Han-mo-ne tried to uncover his weakness to shake off the traitor’s stigma. However, the plan soon collapsed.

Han-mo-ne’s biological mother, Yoon Ji-sook (played by Kim Hyun), who had been hiding with No Han-na, was framed as a kidnapper. Mo-ne rushed to the police station to vouch for Ji-sook’s identity. But Ra-hee, who had secretly followed her, discovered No Han-na’s whereabouts. Ra-hee abducted Han-na. When this fact was discovered by Matthew Lee, Mo-ne faced a crisis.

"Medusa" Ra-hee immediately ordered Do-hyuk to find Han-na. Do-hyuk headed to the villa before Matthew Lee. He successfully evaded Matthew Lee’s men and rescued Han-na.

He then devised a plan to prevent Matthew Lee from harming Han-na. He fabricated a story that the serial killer Shim Jun-seok had kidnapped Han-na to make her face known to the public. Do-hyuk created a deepfake video of Jun-seok (played by Kim Do-hoon) containing a murder forecast for Han-na and released it to the world, using the Tikata Children’s Home app to shake Matthew Lee.

Do-hyuk’s strategy hit the mark. As the rescue of Han-na failed, public opinion quickly turned to criticize Tikita’s incompetence. When Matthew Lee tried to trace the hacking route of the deepfake video through Luca, an error occurred. And upon hearing Ra-hee’s words that there must be someone behind Do-hyuk, he became convinced that the real Lee Hwi-so was alive.

At the end of episode 3, the sight of Mo-ne trapped in Matthew Lee’s underground dungeon was shocking. Matthew Lee woke her up to ask about Do-hyuk’s background. Mo-ne claimed to know nothing.

Despite Mo-ne’s pleas to save Ji-sook, Ra-hee urged without hesitation to kill Mo-ne, who would become an obstacle in their path. The gunshot ending that followed heightened the shock and curiosity.

Meanwhile, the 4th episode of “The Escape of the Seven: Resurrection" will be broadcast at 10 PM on the 6th.
