The episode also reveals the true nature of Lee Yi-Kyung’s character, Park Min-Hwan, who is extremely selfish and greedy. You can see how Min-Hwan can stoop to any level for money. Let’s take a look at how the episode unfolds below.
Min-Hwan is the worst of the worst
The episode picks up from when Na-In-Woo’s character, Ji-Hyuk, dives into the deep stream water to rescue Ji-Won. It shows that Ji-Won manages to secure the number 1 flag. She tries to protect it. However, Soo-Min attacks her and attempts to snatch the flag. But Ji-Won fights back and escapes with the flag.
However, the incident affects her. Ji-Won feels sorry for Soo-Min, despite all the evil things she has done to her. She decides to check on Soo-Min, forgetting how cunning she is. Soo-Min seizes the chance to ambush Ji-Won and steal the flag. The episode then cuts to the moment when the treasure hunt winner is announced. I was delighted to see that Ji-Won had won the hunt. Episode 8 reveals that Ji-Won had satisfactorily reclaimed the number 1 flag from Soo-Min earlier.
That night, Soo-Min finally succumbs to her affair with Ji-Won’s boyfriend, Min-Hwan. She does it out of spite and jealousy. Ji-Won sees the two and breaks down as she relives the betrayal from the future. Ji-Hyuk comforts her and tells her to be brave and focus on winning.
However, the episode later shows that Min-Hwan is a worse person as he doesn't care about Soo-Min. He tells her to keep their affair a secret from Ji-Won. Soo-Min becomes more enraged at Ji-Won after that. The next day, Ji-Won visits Ji-Hyuk’s place. She goes there to meet his pet cat after finding out from Ji-Hyuk that it's the same cat she used to look after during her college days.

Towards the end of episode 8, Min-Hwan faces serious financial problems due to bad investments. It seems like he has lost almost all his money. Thus, he decides to propose to Ji-Won so that he can use her money in the future. Min-Hwan asks Ji-Won about marriage at the office cafeteria. Still, Ji-Won doesn't answer him.At the end of the episode, Min-Hwan pops the question to Ji-Won with a grand gesture. Several drones fly into the sky and form the question of marriage. Min-Hwan gets down on his knees and proposes to Ji-Won properly. Ji-Won accepts the ring. It is obvious from the scene that Ji-Hyuk has arranged the grand proposal for Ji-Won’s happiness.
Episode 8 concludes with Ji-Won thinking to herself that this proposal will make Soo-Min do her best to destroy her and Min-Hwan’s relationship. It will make her want to marry Min-Hwan. In other words, it seems like Ji-Won has slightly altered her plan to change her fate differently.
