[Feb 10 & 11] “Doctor Slump” Episode 5 & 6: Ratings & Recap

JTBC’s “Doctor Slump” hit a new low of 3.7% for its 5th episode. It saw a slight increase in its ratings, scoring 3.9% for its 6th episode.

What made Jeong-Woo travel to Hwabon? 

Jeong-woo knew that Ha-neul would be disappointed after her interview went wrong. He found her and told her not to blame herself, as the interview was canceled because Kyung-min had badmouthed her to the hospital. 

Ha-neul felt even worse, as she feared that her past would haunt her future. Jeong-woo saw that she was in pain and proposed that they go to Hwabon and have some fun. They explored the place and shared their troubles and feelings while enjoying the countryside. 

On their way back, they saw an old man who fainted. They gave him CPR and saved his life. They missed the train because of that and had to stay overnight in Hwabon. They played games and drank beer together in the hotel room.

How did Ha-Neul and Jeong-Woo reminisce about their past? 

Ha-neul heard her mother and brother talking about her interview and felt anxious about it. She didn't want to face them and went to the arcade to play games. Jeong-woo was worried when he learned that she hadn't come home and went to look for her. He met her at the arcade and decided to join her. They agreed to go to their school and revisit their old memories. 

They entered their old classroom and remembered their past. Ha-neul confessed to Jeong-woo that she had failed to get into her dream university because she had fallen ill before the final exams. That had crushed her and made her more strict with herself.

What did Kyung-Min want to achieve? 

Kyung-min visited Jeong-woo and informed him that he had discovered a hidden camera in his clinic. Jeong-woo understood that someone was spying on him and trying to ruin his career. He went back to his office and found more cameras there. He took them to the police right away. When Jeong-woo questioned Kyung-min why he hadn't mentioned the camera sooner, he lied, saying that he thought it was a joke by someone.

Kyung-min inquired Jeong-woo if he had feelings for Ha-neul, and when he admitted that he liked her, he advised him not to get into a relationship. It is likely that Kyung-min had a crush on Jeong-woo, that he was the one who stalked him, and that he had placed the cameras in his clinic to monitor him. He might have also sabotaged Ha-neul’s interview deliberately because he was jealous of her closeness to Jeong-woo.

Why did Jeong-Woo reject Ha-Neul’s advances? 

Ha-neul asked Jeong-woo why he was so kind to her and if he had any feelings for her. Jeong-woo denied it, saying that he was only being a good friend to her. She realized that her family had heard their conversation and felt embarrassed and foolish for misinterpreting his feelings.

Later, she went to her psychiatrist and explained the situation to him. He suggested that maybe Jeong-woo had PTSD and was scared to commit. After realizing how much Jeong-woo was suffering, Ha-neul ran to him and told him that he wasn't responsible for the incident and that he shouldn't stress over it. He told Ha-neul that he didn't mean to reject her, but he wasn't ready for a relationship.

They both admitted to having feelings for each other. Ha-neul proposed that Jeong-woo should seek some psychiatric help to improve his condition. She shared that she was also undergoing treatment and had seen the benefits. She wanted him to join her in getting better. He accepted her proposal and they went to get treatments together.

What made Ha-Neul jealous? 

On their way back from the clinic, Ha-neul and Jeong-woo stumbled upon some money on the street and chose to spend it together. They had fun at the arcade and the karaoke. 

As they were returning, they ran into another classmate who complimented Jeong-woo a lot. She showed too much interest in Jeong-woo, which annoyed Ha-neul. She told Ha-neul how Jeong-woo used to protect her from bullies in school and give her extra sausages in school.

After the classmate left, Ha-neul complained to Jeong-woo that he was rude to her in school, while he was nice to all the other women. She said that she was very angry with him for treating her badly in school and leaving! 

Later, she realized that she had been too harsh on him. She apologized to him and confessed that she was jealous when the girl praised Jeong-woo so much. Jeong-woo once again opened up to Ha-neul, telling her that he liked her but didn't want to hurry into a relationship.

How did Dr. Bin ask Hong-Ran out? 

When Dr. Bin met Hong-ran in an elevator at the clinic, he noticed her name on her coat and recognized that she was the woman he was looking for. He explained to her that they had planned to go on a date, but there was a big misunderstanding and he ended up going out with Ha-neul. He invited her to go for coffee and she agreed. 

Later, when they met, they seemed to enjoy themselves. Dr. Bin told her that he was glad that she was one of his followers on his channel on Neo-Tube. Hong-ran realized that she had accidentally subscribed to his channel and told him that she didn't mean to follow his channel, as his content wasn't her cup of tea. A date that was supposed to go smoothly and connect two hearts was a total disaster! However, possibly, they would get together later, despite their different preferences.

Who assaulted Jeong-Woo? 

Meanwhile, Kyung-Min came to see Jeong-woo to hang out with him. He told Kyung-Min that he was upset with him for ruining Ha-neul’s interview, which seemed to bother Kyung-Min a bit! 

While Jeong-woo was walking back from the cafe, someone was following him. When Jeong-woo spotted the stalker, he grabbed him, but before he could unmask him, he smashed Jeong-woo on the head with a glass bottle and ran away. On the other end, when Ha-neul entered Jeong-woo’s room to shut the windows, she discovered another hidden camera there!

What will happen next? 

"Doctor Slump" episode 7 is likely to unveil the true identity of the stalker. Jeong-woo will get closer to finding out the truth about his botched surgery! 

The next episode of the series may also reveal whether people in Macau have been plotting against Jeong-woo. The chance is that the patient who died during the operation was murdered by her business partners. They must have been trying to frame Jeong-woo for their crime. Many secrets about the patient’s death are likely to be exposed in the 7th episode of "Doctor Slump."
