"Celebrity," a Korean drama Netflix (2023), delves into the complex realm of social media influencers. It combines glitz and glamour with a thrilling mystery involving murder. This series sheds light on the hidden dark side of internet fame, tracking the journey of A-ri from being severely broke to achieving viral popularity on social media.

"Celebrity" examines themes like competition, image-building, and the dark underbelly that often lies behind fame. Even though some parts of its storyline may seem exaggerated to viewers, the show is, on the whole, worth watching. The suspense surrounding A-ri kept my interest alive.

Who doesn't love this Chaebol?~

The story structure effortlessly transitions between the past and present, keeping viewers engaged. Unexpected twists keep you guessing. The acting is generally good. Particularly, the lead actor CNBLUE's Min Hyuk is smoking hot here~

Romantic element

The irresistible chemistry between Min Hyuk and the female lead is appealing, even though romance isn't mainly involved in this drama.

They have few scenes together but all are heart-throbbing. Don't let this potential get wasted! I need them in another drama!

Aesthetics

"Celebrity" also scores high on visual elegance. Korean aesthetic standards are noticeably upheld. Event planning and shop interiors on display are attractive and stylish.

Pacing and length

With only 12 episodes, this show makes for a perfect weekend binge-watch. Again, the story progression is smooth and the plot keeps viewers hooked.

My final thoughts

Irrespective of its loopholes and outrageous plotlines, "Celebrity" drama is quite entertaining. Even with some lackluster characters, it offers an exciting experience with its captivating story, surprising narrative twists, and sizzling chemistry between the main leads.

The reflection on the price of fame sparks deep thoughts about the costs and judgments associated with gaining and maintaining stardom. In some way, the show promotes contentment and tranquility – a crucial message for everyone, regardless of their social standing.

On the one hand, that’s one of the reasons why being an ordinary person is indeed great! Being famous is hard as you have to sacrifice a lot of things for fame. And you usually have to worry about what others think, say, or judge about you. You may not be able to do anything without hesitation or second thoughts. You fear that anything you do might ruin your reputation, career, or other achievements.

I enjoy living a simple, peaceful, and happy life. Sometimes, reality might be a bit disappointing. But if you think it’s enough, then it is enough.

But on the other hand, whether you are ordinary or famous, when your heart is strong, everything will be peaceful. Remember, in this life, everyone has their own situation like flowers and trees. Flowers have different colors and fragrances. Trees have different sizes, heights, and shapes.
