The 2023 Grimae Awards, which honor the best cinematography and acting in Korean television, were held on November 22. The awards are organized by the Korean Directors of Photography Society (KDPS) and voted on by film directors from various broadcasting companies.
The top prize of the night went to "My Dearest," which ended with a high rating of 12.9%.
The lead actors of "My Dearest," Namgoong Min and Ahn Eun Jin, also took home the Best Actor and Best Actress awards, respectively.
Namgoong Min expressed his appreciation for the production team, saying, "I have been working as an actor for about 24 years. I increasingly realize how important the camera and lighting directors are." He added, "The success of 'My Dearest' was thanks to the directors," and thanked the directors and staff.
Ahn Eun Jin also thanked the directors, staff, and her co-star Namgoong Min. She said, "Before I started 'My Dearest,' I was very worried and hesitant about this project. But when I got to the set, everything was solved. I relied on the directors and the staff on the set."
The other awards went to the directors of "My Dearest": Kim Jung Yong, Cheon Soo Jin, and Lee Han Joon won the Directing Award, and Kwon Min Goo won the Lighting Award.
So well deserved!
