SBS confirmed on December 11 that Ji Sung and Jeon Mi Do will be the leads of their upcoming drama "Connection" (working title).
The drama is a crime investigation thriller that follows a twisted friendship and a mystery involving the death of a high school friend who left behind 5 billion won (about $3.7 million) in insurance money. The drama will be helmed by director Lee Tae Gon and writer Lee Hyun, who collaborated before on JTBC's "Diary of a Prosecutor".
Ji Sung will portray Inspector Jang Jae Kyung, a narcotics officer at Anhyun Police Station who is respected by his juniors and trusted by his seniors. He maintains a distance from his friends and family to avoid any weaknesses and always adheres to his principles at work.
Jeon Mi Do will act as Oh Yoon Jin, a reporter for the social affairs section of Anhyun Economic Daily who has a strong sense of justice and a sharp tongue. She was unjustly fired from her previous job and came back to Anhyun City, where she decided to become a fearless reporter who values friendship as money.
The drama is aiming to air in the first half of 2024.~
