“Welcome to Samdalri” is a new romance drama about two childhood friends who reunite in their hometown after going through different paths in life. The drama is directed by Cha Young Hoon, who also directed “When the Camellia Blooms”.
Ji Chang Wook plays Jo Yong Pil, a loyal and kind-hearted man who has stayed in his hometown on Jeju Island to protect its people. Shin Hye Sun plays Jo Sam Dal, who grew up with Yong Pil as his best friend and first love.
Unlike Yong Pil, who was happy to live in their small town of Samdalri, Sam Dal wanted to escape and pursue her dream of becoming a photographer. She worked hard as an assistant in the competitive fashion industry in Seoul and finally achieved success. However, when her life falls apart, she has no choice but to return to Samdalri.
Back in her hometown, Sam Dal finds comfort and happiness in Yong Pil, who still cares for her deeply. The former couple is smiling as they enjoy the beautiful view of the sea and sky.
“The moment when we finally begin to catch our breath.” This suggests that Sam Dal and Yong Pil will heal their wounds and find peace in each other’s company.
The drama’s production team commented, “We hope that you will be able to relax and breathe with Yong Pil and Sam Dal through ‘Welcome to Samdalri’ at the end of this year. We are also focusing on the cinematography to capture the beauty and warmth of the hometown. Please look forward to ‘Welcome to Samdalri’, a drama that will make you laugh and feel peaceful in your busy life.”
“Welcome to Samdalri” will air on December 2 at 10:30 p.m. KST.
