Park Shin-hye & Park Hyung-sik: A Reunion in "Doctor Slump" After a Decade

 

The upcoming JTBC drama "Doctor Slump" is set to make its debut, bringing a fresh take on romantic comedy. The narrative centers around Yeo Jung Woo, portrayed by Park Hyung Sik, and Nam Ha Neul, played by Park Shin Hye. Both characters find themselves in a professional rut despite their previously unblemished records of success. As fate would have it, these two adversaries cross paths during this low point in their lives and unexpectedly become sources of joy and solace for each other.

This show also signifies a much-anticipated on-screen reunion for Park Hyung Sik and Park Shin Hye, who last worked together a decade ago on the popular series "Heirs." The direction of "Doctor Slump" is in the capable hands of Oh Hyun Jong, known for "Find Me in Your Memory" and "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo," with the script penned by Baek Sun Woo of "What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim" fame.

The cast reading was a display of remarkable synergy, particularly between Park Hyung Sik and Park Shin Hye, hinting at an exceptional on-screen dynamic. Park Hyung Sik's character is a renowned plastic surgeon whose life hits rock bottom following a baffling medical incident. Yoon Bak steps into the shoes of Bin Dae Young, a conceited plastic surgeon who secretly competes with Yeo Jung Woo, yet understands him like no other. Gong Sung Ha portrays Lee Hong Ran, Nam Ha Neul's best friend and fellow anesthesiologist, whose life becomes curiously linked with Bin Dae Young's.

The drama is further enriched by the talents of Jang Hye Jin, Hyun Bong Sik, and Yoon Sang Hyun, who bring to life Nam Ha Neul's family members. The ensemble is rounded out by Oh Dong Min, Park Won Ho, Kang Sang Joon, and Jung Ji Soon, each adding depth to the story with their unique characters.
