Relatable Quotes from the Drama "Soundtrack #2"

Edit Posted by with No comments

I think both Hyeon Seo and Su Ho in "Southtrack #2" learned a lesson on how to make their relationship work. From the outside, it seemed like she was the only one who had issues to deal with, such as feeling inferior, rejecting his help, feeling lost, and doubting their compatibility because of their differences. But he also had to overcome his bitterness from the breakup, which he blamed on his lack of money. He tried to make up for it by spending too much, like treating her to expensive dinners and paying her rent for a year without asking.

Of course, it's nice to have your boyfriend pay your rent for a year, but she felt indebted to him, which was probably not what she wanted. She was independent and used to relying on herself. The breakup (and reconciliation) showed that she loved SH for who he was, not for his wealth and success.

When he threw away the magnets, he was getting rid of the memory of their breakup and how she hurt him. I'm also glad she acknowledged her inferiority complex and worked on it by getting out of the survival mode. The airport scene was touching and heartbreaking. It showed us that Hyeon Seo, who never seemed to change, was actually willing to change herself and her situation. Su Ho helped her indirectly. This drama does illustrate the idea of "loving yourself before you love someone else".
