Nielsen Korea reported that the last episode of “A Good Day to Be a Dog” scored an average of 1.5% in nationwide ratings, matching the rating of its previous episode.

This was a bonus episode for the show's fans, as the main story of “A Good Day to be a Dog” had wrapped up in episode 13. The series could have ended with a few more minutes in the previous episode, and it would have been satisfying. But episode 14 was a fun epilogue, like a special edition, that showed what happened to Lee Bo-kyeom (Lee Hyun-Woo) after he gave up his revenge against Han Hae-na (Park Gyuyoung) and Jin Seo-won (Cha Eun-Woo).

The episode, called “The Birthday Present,” takes us to a year later in Seoul, where Hae-na and Seo-won are in a happy relationship but still hiding it from their coworkers. Hae-na’s sister Han Yoo-na (Ryu Abel) is also in a blissful romance with her best friend Song Woo Taek (Cho Jin Se), and they are planning to tie the knot.

Meanwhile, Min Ji Ah (Kim Yi Kyung) is looking for Lee Bo-kyeom who vanished after finding out the whole truth about the past and realizing that Hae-na wasn't a traitor to Cho Young in her previous life. (Though she did accidentally lead the enemy to him.)

The episode mostly focuses on Hae-na's efforts to surprise Seo-won on his birthday, and they have many sweet moments together. Seo-won, who is no longer scared of dogs, can enjoy his girlfriend's passion and affection for dogs. Park Gyuyoung and Cha Eun-Woo are charming in this comedy fantasy romance. This was a nice finale to the series.

Like Flowers in Sand Ep. 7

On the other hand, ENA’s “Like Flowers in Sand” recorded an average of 2.0% in nationwide ratings for its 7th episode, slightly lower than its previous episode’s rating of 2.1%.

Episode 7 has validated our predictions about the show from the start, that Baek Du's luck would change as soon as he met his true love. This also gives us some clues about what to expect in the next episode. We were happy to see Baek Du enjoy his career for a change. He had been a lovable loser for too long, so this twist of fate was refreshing.

Does Baek Du Get To The Match?

The last time Du Sik saw Baek Du, she only told him to think of her when he won future championships. She didn't say anything about leaving the town, but Baek Du realized it when he saw her drive away.

In the present, Du Sik tells her colleague that her father was accused of telling a wrestler on his team to lose a match, and the wrestler said no. Later, the wrestler, Joo Cheol Yong, was killed, and people blamed Du Sik's father. There was no proof against him, but the gossip didn't stop, and Du Sik's family had to move away. Du Sik says they were forced out, and that's why she changed her name. Her colleague wonders why she came back, and it's clear that she has unfinished business here.

Meanwhile, Baek Du is getting ready for the tournament. He tells his family not to watch the match this time. Maybe he's afraid that they will see him fail again, or maybe he wants to focus without them around, but they wish him good luck.

However, Baek Du is late. He didn't know that the meeting time was earlier and he missed it, so Du Sik had to take him to the venue. She grumbles all the way, while Baek Du is glad to be with her and teases her. Baek Du is obviously in love. Usually, only someone who loves you would stay awake when you don't reply to their messages, and that is Du Sik for Baek Du. Also, Baek Du is annoying her on purpose and asking her for things, knowing that it will make her mad.
