[Feb 4] “My Happy Ending” Episode 12: Rating & Recap

TV Chosun’s “My Happy Ending” had a rating of 2.7%, as it entered its last 2 weeks. In episode 12, Jang Nara kidnapped → So Yi-hyun and Kim Myung-soo join forces? 

This episode depicted the cruelly twisted fate of Seo Jae-won (Jang Nara), who embarked on bitter revenge by uncovering the truth behind her husband Heo Soon-young (Son Ho-jun)'s death. And Kwon Yoon-jin (So Yi-hyun) launched a counterattack using her father Kwon Young-ik (Kim Myung-soo), who committed heinous acts without hesitation.

Young-ik’s hidden vicious side

First, Jae-won witnessed the situation where Kim Sang-beom (Heo Hyung-kyu), the biological father of her daughter Heo Ah-rin (Choi So-yul), was brutally hit by an accident by Young-ik’s henchman. She shocked Yoon Tae-oh (Lee Ki-taek), who said he didn’t know Young-ik would move so fast, by revealing Young-ik’s hidden vicious side, saying, “He’s the kind of person who doesn’t care about the means and methods to cover up his flaws.”

Jae-won threatened Young-ik

Jae-won went to Young-ik and played the voice file of the phone call between Yoon-jin and Young-ik at the time of Seung-kyu’s fall. She warned him coldly, “It’s important that the minister knew the truth and tried to cover it up. And Seung-kyu woke up, you know.” Moreover, Jae-won calmly said, “You have to make a decision. Whether to keep your minister position or protect your daughter,” and angered Young-ik.

Her life-and-death crisis

At the end of episode 12, Tae-oh’s worry that the things they plan are too dangerous and Jae-won’s life-and-death crisis are shown.

As soon as Jae-won entered the house, Young-ik’s henchman stuck a syringe in her neck and covered her mouth. Jae-won lost consciousness and was kidnapped. Then, the "reverse goosebumps ending" unfolded with Yoon-jin sitting in Young-ik’s seat with a cold expression and Young-ik appearing in front of Jae-won tied to a chair, raising expectations for the next episode.

Meanwhile, "My Happy Ending" episodes 13 and 14 will be canceled due to the Lunar New Year holiday. Episode 13 will air on Saturday, February 17 at 9:10 p.m.
