[Feb 15] “Queen of Divorce” Episode 6: Rating & Recap

As the drama “Queen of Divorce” enters its second half, it sees a surge in ratings. The show, which features Lee Ji Ah and Kang Ki Young as the leads, concluded the first half of its story last night with higher ratings than before. Nielsen Korea reported that the drama’s 6th episode achieved a 5.6% average rating across the country, a 1% increase from the previous episode.

Ki-joon saves Sa-ra from the fire and Yul-seong wants a divorce

Ki-joon rescues Sa-ra from the fire just in time as she wakes up and cries for help; Yul-seong, who was on his way back, sees the flames and decides to leave when he spots them together. The following day, Sa-ra reminisces about the fire and leans on Ki-joon like before.

Yul-seong faces pressure to wrap up the divorce case quickly while Hee-jin discovers photos of Yul-seong and Yu-mi on Ki-joon’s computer. She tells Yul-seong immediately and tries to distance him from Ki-joon by proceeding with the divorce on Sa-ra’s terms.

Sa-ra is ecstatic with the news and Ki-joon brings the papers for Yul-seong to sign the next day. He tells Yul-seong to keep away from Sa-ra and vows to win her back after what happened. Meanwhile, Cha Hui-won storms into Solution, slaps Sa-ra and Ji-in for their actions and warns them before leaving. She confronts Yul-seong about it but he refuses to follow his mother’s plan again. 

Sa-ra and Ki-joon take on a new case involving La-hee, Ki-joon’s ex-girlfriend

The next day, Sa-ra takes on a new case of a famous streamer, Choi La-hee, who wants to divorce her disabled husband who suspects that she's unfaithful.

Sa-ra agrees to handle the case, but Ki-joon is reluctant when he sees who the client is. La-hee shows up at Solution and Sa-ra learns that she used to date Ki-joon. She feels jealous but tries to hide it. Later, she decides to drop the client but Ki-joon stops her and says that he doesn’t want anyone else to know his secrets.

As they investigate the case, the team notices that La-hee’s husband often gets injured and they become suspicious. Sa-ra and Ki-joon go to meet him and ask him about his injuries, but he blames himself. As they leave La-hee’s house, they run into her and she requests to speak with Ki-joon alone.

She attempts to sow discord between Sa-ra and Ki-joon, and it's revealed that she is working for Yul-seong. She also tries to make Ki-joon drunk and Sa-ra sees them and gets the wrong idea. However, Ki-joon rejects her and she calls Yul-seong’s secretary, which Sa-ra overhears and realizes the truth.

However, Sa-ra is curious about what La-hee said about Ki-joon’s reason for joining Solution. The next day, Sa-ra and Ki-joon confront Yul-seong in his office but they don’t do anything as they sense that he is afraid of something.

Later, Sa-ra and the team look for ways to make the couple divorce as they know that something is wrong with the husband’s injuries. Sa-ra and Ki-joon visit La-hee’s husband again, who they find on the floor trying to get back to his wheelchair.

They assist him and discuss the divorce, but he is not willing to expose his wife’s lies. They realize that he trusts La-hee too much and they show him evidence of what she has been doing behind his back. They find out that La-hee auctions off meetings with fans and tries to win by making the highest donation.

Dae-ki goes on the date with Jang-mi’s help. They record their conversation and La-hee’s husband hears how his wife cheated on him all along. But he's  too ashamed to tell his friends and family about his miserable married life.

Sa-ra sympathizes with him but advises him to end this relationship as it will only hurt him more. He realizes the truth and Sa-ra devises a plan to solve this problem. La-hee wants to hold a party on their third wedding anniversary and create some drama for her channel’s 100,000 views.

Sa-ra turns La-hee’s drama into reality, but when her husband is supposed to play along, he surprises her by asking for a divorce. La-hee’s facade crumbles and she knows that Sa-ra is behind this. She grabs a kettle with boiling water and tries to attack her but Kang Bom intervenes and restrains her until the police come to arrest her for domestic violence.

The party goes on as it transforms from a wedding celebration to a divorce celebration. Sa-ra meets Ji-in who has started a peaceful life and expresses her gratitude to Sa-ra for making it possible. She gives her some files that her father had hidden and that were related to Yeong-sul and hopes that Sa-ra will get her child back.

Yul-seong has a secret victory when he gets closer to his dream project. But he learns about La-hee’s divorce and thinks that Sa-ra and Ki-joon are getting closer. He attempts to stir up trouble by telling Sa-ra about Ki-joon’s hidden motive, but she does not want to hear him.

She examines the files that Ji-in gave her and discovers information related to Ki-joon. She confronts him and learns that he joined Solution to solve Professor Seo’s case by getting information on Yul-seong through her. She's shocked and tells him to take whatever answers he needs from her and leave Solution as soon as he can.

Ki-joon tries to explain that this isn't true but she doesn't listen. He follows her outside and Sa-ra sees Yul-seong’s car. She turns around and kisses Ki-joon.

Review 

We finally got to see the first kiss of the Sa-Ki couple, which was a delight for everyone. Still, the misunderstandings that they have for each other are quite frustrating and we want more romantic scenes to be happy.

The case of the day was more interesting and matched what was promised at the start. It shows that men can also be victims of domestic violence and that it's harder for them to admit it than it is for women. But it's important to leave such a toxic relationship and no one should have to stay for so long.

Also, I hope someone will find out that Jang hee-jin isn't trustworthy soon.
